Unmarked Graves

Nameless
Unmarked graves…
Unknown names…
Endless days…
Death lays…

In Louisiana, this sort of gravesite can be rather common. Flooding and sinking lands continue to remove proof of lives once lived. I am not sure if that is the case for this particular site but in some cases it is. I have also heard of this being one of the ways that cities bury bodies of unclaimed family members. There is something about a blank grave that truly strikes something deep within me. Death is inevitable but being someone that is remembered by someone else, means something to me. I will never know who lies beneath these markings, but I do choose to pay a quick respect to the life that once was.
May “The Nameless” rest in peace, and ascend with ease…
